Privacy policy

Scatter Maths is designed to collect less information about students, while still giving families useful practice and transparent progress.

Information we collect

We may collect the purchaser's name and email address; an email address voluntarily supplied to save and receive a readiness scorecard result; the student's first name or nickname and optional email address; an Australian mobile number when the optional SMS reminder service is purchased and enabled; selected course, focus topics and reminder preferences; question attempts, marks, help used and completion activity; and limited technical, campaign-attribution and transaction records needed to operate, measure and secure the service.

We do not ask for a student's school, date of birth or home address. Card details are handled by our payment provider and are not stored by Scatter Maths.

Why we use it

We use this information to deliver practice, save and display a requested scorecard result, remember progress, personalise question selection, send requested reminders and shared weekly reports, understand whether a campaign is useful, manage paid access, provide support, prevent abuse and improve the service. Supplying an email for a scorecard does not add the person to a marketing list.

Parents and students see the same progress

Progress reporting is intended to support a conversation, not covert monitoring. Students can see the same attempts, marks and use-of-help information that is shown to their parent or guardian.

Service providers

We use specialist providers for hosting, authentication, email delivery and payment processing. They receive only the information needed to provide those services and may process it outside Australia, including in the United States. We do not sell personal information or use student activity for targeted advertising.

Choices, access and deletion

Reminder emails can be paused. A parent or student may ask to access or correct their information. The parent account holder may request deletion of the family's learning data, subject to records we must keep for security, tax or legal reasons.

Security and retention

We use private access links, restricted administrative access and appropriate technical controls. Learning records are kept only while the account is active and for a limited period afterwards to provide support and resolve disputes, unless law requires longer retention.
